Thoroughly clean tongue-end including gasket recess. |

Lubricate tongue-end, especially gasket recess. |

Lubricate the O-Ring gasket before it is put in the recess. |

Equalize stretch of O-Ring gasket completely around pipe as shown. |

Thoroughly clean the inside surface of the bell and entry taper. |
 |
Lubricate bell, especially the entry taper on the outer edge of the bell. |
 |
Align tongue and bell. Gasket should be flush with entire entry taper before pushing the pipe home. |
 |
Be sure the entire pipe and joint is adequately supported by proper bedding. Do not force pipe to grade with Backhoe Bucket. |
